Joyce Tremel is a former employee of a suburban Pittsburgh police department. She holds a second degree black belt in Taekwondo and volunteered as a trainee instructor for two years. She is a member of Pennwriter's and a former Vice-President of the Mary Roberts Rinehart chapter of Sisters in Crime. Her non-fiction articles have appeared in The Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police magazine, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Penn Writer, and online. She has a featured article in the Sisters in Crime publication, Breaking & Entering and is a team member for the SinC Links newsletter sent to Sisters in Crime members every month. Her short story Agatha is featured in the Spring 2009 Mysterical-E magazine and her flash story, The Disappearance of Sarah is in the Spring 2010 Mysterical-E.
